Zoning Permits are oriented towards the LOT and how a proposed building or structure will be placed on the LOT.
Zoning Permits ensure compliance with regulations relating to setbacks, bulk/size, density, height, lot coverage, and and other lot requirements set forth in the City Zoning Ordinance.

Certain types of construction are not covered by the State Building Code and thereby do not require a Building Permit. In those instances a Zoning Permit is necessary to determine if such construction will meet setbacks and other Zoning regulations.
