Do NOT pour, dump or flush ...

The ‘dirty’ water leaving your home or business when you flush the toilet, run the dishwasher or washing machine, pull the bathtub or sink drain or anything else that gets flushed or goes down the drain is referred to as ‘wastewater’. The ‘wastewater’ from every home and business in town ends up in the City of St. Clair Wastewater (Sewer) Treatment Plant. The process of removing and dissolving ‘solids’ from the wastewater collected at the Wastewater Treatment Plant is quite complex. A balance of ‘good bacteria’ and ‘bad bacteria’ is required in the Plant for the removal and dissolving process to function and operate efficiently. The Plant is monitored and tested daily to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations set by the MN Pollution Control Agency (PCA).

The Public Works Supervisor and the City Council urges residents and business owners to dispose of items properly.  DO NOT pour, dump of flush anything inappropriate down the drain or toilet ... NO chemicals, fuels, oils, cleansers, grease, solvents, paint, paint thinner, mineral spirits, etc.
